About this post/ om dette indlæg
This post is going to be updated several times throughout the 24 hour read-a-thon. So read now… and come back again later to see how we are doing:)
We are writing this post together (Sandra and Signe), but we are reading in two different cities. Sandra in her flat in Copenhagen (home alone) and Signe (and family) in her house in Kalundborg.
And last but not least: Feel free to comment, we would love to hear from you:)

Getting ready, Kalundborg.
It’s just before 9 o’clock and I’ve got 5 hours to get ready. In Denmark the readathon starts at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. We are not ready yet. We’ve got some books, we’ve got a nice new baking mould…. but there’s no cake in it! And we haven’t got any other snacks either. I’m better get going!
I Danmark starter læsemarathonet klokken 14.00.
Later in Kalundborg
The snacks is in the building and the cake is in the oven.
14.23 Copenhagen Not even close to being ready…
Well we are a bit behind schedule (as always). But we did manage to go to our public library and get 34 new exiting books (30 of them are children’s books), but when we got back we needed lunch and the youngest needed a nap. So so fare I have lined up the books and I’m just getting started on the snacks (almost as important as the books). I hope we will start reading within the next couple of hours (or at least start eating the snacks;-))
Kalundborg 15.00, Signe
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I’m reading in Denmark. It’s a gray and rainy day. Perfect for reading:)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I’m not sure… maybe Harry Potter. I haven’t read that for years:)
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Them all… and the TEA
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! My name is Signe. I’m a reader, a mother, a life lover, a teacher and much more. I am reading with my two children today. They are 7 and almost 2 years old. My husband is going to work, so he can’t join us very much today.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I don’t know what I will do differently…
We just had dinner. I have only read two chapters in my book. I’m interrupted quite often, but I think it will be more peaceful soon, when the kids sleep. Well… that’s if they sleep soon. Kamille, my youngest daughter just woke up from a very late nap. But right now she is playing with her LEGO, and Sofie is listening to an audiobook, so I will try to read a little more i a minute.
we made it! We actually read a whole lot of childrens books and the boys loved it😍
I fell asleep when I was putting the children to bed😴 So now I’m trying to wake up so I can read some grown up books as well😉
I just burned oatmeal porridge TWICE, because I was busy reading to Kamille. And I even slept tonight. Beautiful, Signe!
Smukt Signe!
Which hour was most daunting for you? The one, when I fell asleep and sleep for 8 hours. LOL
Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? I read Martian not long ago. I was nerdy and goooood.
Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? I would be great with a family cheering group, for those who read as families.
What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? The blogger cheering was quite smooth!
How many books did you read? 1/2 book of my own and a lot of children books:)
What were the names of the books you read? Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, Kaj- books (Mats Letén), Grisses navle, and other children’s books…
Which book did you enjoy most? Harry Potter. I haven’t read that book for years.
Which did you enjoy least? I don’t know
If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? I like to pick a handful or two to cheer, and return to them, to see how they are doing. I think it’s more fun to follow a few, than just writing “happy reading” on all the blogs:)
How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I will be back for sure! I will read and cheer:)
Thanks for now!
